Tap into Savings has installed water and energy saving devices in over 400 homes in Tile Hill and Canley to date. Each home visit helps the householder save up to 15 percent of their water use and up to £50 off their utility bills. The project is running until February 2011 and aims to install products in 2000 homes in total.

Over 1000 homes in the Braintree District have booked a free water-saving visit

Over 1000 homes in the Braintree District have booked a free water-saving home visit from Tap into Savings. Each home visit is carried out by an Anglian Water approved plumber who will install up to £30 worth of water-saving products and check for leaks too. Home visits help households save up to 15% of their water use and up to £50 off their utility bills. The project is running until February 2011 and aims to install water-saving products in 5000 homes in total.

Godiva sisters join Tap into Savings Eco-Team

Tap into Savings has recruited the Godiva sisters (see photograph below) into an EcoTeam to help them learn new ways of saving water, gas, electricity and money. By joining the EcoTeam the Godiva sisters will meet once a month for five months and learn how they can save over £100 on household bills and reduce their water consumption by 15 percent.

Tap into Savings comes to Braintree - New scheme launched to save water, electricity, gas and money across the district

A major national water and energy saving project – Tap into Savings – is being launched today at the Braintree Town Hall by project partners. Over the next six months, the project will visit 5,000 homes in the Braintree District, helping households save around 15% of their water use - at zero cost to the householder. Collectively, we’ll be saving 247,500 litres of water a day - enough to supply 1700 people in Braintree with their daily water needs, or fill the main 8-laned swimming pool in Braintree twice a week.

Tap into Savings survey show Tile Hill and Canley residents are already water wise

A Tap into Savings survey carried out this summer revealed that 85 percent of respondents from Tile Hill, Canley and surrounding areas say that they are already taking steps to save water. Tap into Savings, a new community-based project in the area, aims to help everyone save even more to save money and help local water supplies and wildlife.

Tap into Savings EcoTeam meetings come to a celebratory end in Merstham and Redhill

The final Tap into Savings EcoTeam meetings have now taken place in Merstham and Redhill and both groups were handed certificates to celebrate completing the course, reminding everyone that the programme was officially endorsed by the United Nations Environment Programme. The EcoTeams covered energy, water and waste saving tips and information, and both groups felt like they knew a lot more about each topic, as well as each other.

Tap into Savings comes to Coventry

A major national water and energy saving project – Tap into Savings – was launched today at St. Mary’s Guildhall in Coventry. Over the next six months the project will visit 2,000 homes in Tile Hill, Canley and surrounding areas, helping households save around 15% of their water use - at zero cost to the householder. Collectively that’s 94,000 litres of water a day - enough to supply over 700 people in Coventry with their daily water needs or fill the Coventry sports centre swimming pool every four weeks. In addition, Coventry residents are being invited to come along to EcoTeam meetings to learn how to save even more water plus gas, electricity and how to recycle more.

Hundreds save water and energy with Tap into Savings in Redhill and Merstham by going ‘retro’

People throughout Redhill and Merstham are now saving water, energy and money through going ‘retro’. Residents, most of whom are from Raven Housing Trust, are taking part in the nationally important Tap into Savings project, which is particularly targeting harder to reach groups from social housing.

The water efficient activities of Surrey residents are set to be viewed on South Korean television.

Production company KBS Busan has recently been filming in Redhill and Merstham as part of a feature highlighting the need to save water and resources. Like the south east of England, South Korea has limited water resources for a growing population and more efficient water-use is becoming a national objective.
