Waste

Jute for thought
Plastic carrier bags can take between 500 and 1000 years to break down in a landfill site. Try to use a jute or reusable bag for your shopping to cut back on those wasteful plastic bags.

Get a box
Find out if your local council provide recycling facilities.  Some provide recycling boxes to households for free and collect paper, card and mixed cans weekly.

Love your food
Families in the UK waste £50 of good food every month.  Keeping your fridge, freezer and cupboard stocked with long shelf life basics means you’ll always have ingredients at hand to make the most of fresh food.

Stop junk
To cut down on the amount of unwanted mail you get, register with the Mailing Preference Service.
